Under F.S. §489.105, a registered contractor has registered with the Department by fulfilling the competency requirements of a specific local jurisdiction and may contract only in that jurisdiction (or jurisdictions) for which the registration was issued. Specialty contractors’ scope under F.S. §489.105(3)(q) is limited to a particular phase of construction within categories adopted by board rule; as a registered credential, authority is also limited to the jurisdiction for which it was issued.
