Under F.S. §489.105, a registered contractor has registered with the Department by fulfilling the competency requirements of a specific local jurisdiction and may contract only in that jurisdiction (or jurisdictions) for which the registration was issued. Building contractors are limited under F.S. §489.105(3)(b) to commercial buildings and residential buildings not exceeding three stories; as a registered credential, authority is limited to the jurisdiction for which it was issued.
